2021 Blankiet Estate Mythicvs, Paradise Hills Vineyard

Mythicvs

A 100% Cabernet Sauvignon selection from the best lots. The darkest of all our wines. Extraordinarily deep with powerful yet refined tannins. A wine for extended cellaring.

The 2021 ‘Mythicvs’ Cabernet Sauvignon needs little introduction. It is the crown jewel from Blankiet and one of the finest wines from the entire region. Composed from selected barrels of Cabernet Sauvignon from the best lots, this wine has it all. It reveals its incredibly perfumed aromatics of ripe dark currants and black cherries, woven with fresh violets, graphite shavings, exotic spices, tobacco, herbs, and crushed gravel that all come together and burst from the glass. It is full-bodied and remarkably polished on the palate, with absolutely outstanding overall balance and structure. This stunning Cabernet goes on to impress with its wonderful concentration, precision, and beautifully pure, ripe dark fruits that continue to captivate the senses as they build up to the gorgeous finish. This is a masterful display of power, elegance, and sheer class that easily rivals the finest wines in the world. The 2021 “Mythicvs” is clearly one of the most compelling wines from the entire vintage, and there is no doubt it should have an incredibly bright future ahead for many years to come.

A tiny barrel selection of the best Cabernet in the vintage, the 2021 Cabernet Sauvignon Mythicvs sports a dense plum hue as well as incredible aromatics of blackcurrants, black olive tapenade, iron, smoked tobacco, and camphor. It’s a big, rich, mouth-filling wine offering moderate acidity, ripe, layered tannins, stunning mid-palate depth, and a great finish. It needs 3-4 years of bottle age (or lots of air if drinking any time soon), but it’s a magical Napa Valley Cabernet Sauvignon in the making.

The 2021 Cabernet Sauvignon Mythicvs Paradise Hills Vineyard shows more textural opulence than the Proprietary Red (also Cabernet Sauvignon) and also a touch more oak imprint, but the two wines are differentiated more by style than quality. Silky, beautifully ripe tannins, frames hints of blue fruit, orange peel, mocha, mint, spice, incense and tobacco. I wouldn’t dream of touching a bottle anytime soon. In a word: Unforgettable!
