The 2021 Prince of Hearts is composed of 47.3% Cabernet Sauvignon, 40.1% Merlot, 9% Cabernet Franc, and 3.6% Petit Verdot. This is the second wine of the estate. The amount of Merlot has slightly increased over the last few years, making it a distinctive wine. Deep garnet-purple in color, it springs from the glass with bright, cheery notes of Morello cherries, juicy blackberries, and fresh plums followed by hints of redcurrant jelly, cinnamon stick, and rosebud tea. The full-bodied palate is juicy and plush, with bags of red and black berry layers and a lively line lifting the fragrant finish.
