Jeb Dunnuck Report (May 2022) Review of 2019 Proprietary Red, Paradise Hills Vineyard

Blankiet Estate Proprietary Red

Review by Jeb Dunnuck

Rating: (97+)

The 2019 Cabernet Sauvignon Blankiet Estate Proprietary Red is straight-up incredible, with medium to full-bodied aromas and flavors of cassis, graphite, lead pencil shavings, and tobacco leaf. It reminds me of a great vintage of Château Lafite with its elegance and purity, and it builds slowly on the palate, with ripe tannins, a seamless mouthfeel, and a great finish. It’s not massive by any means but is just pure class. It should have 30 years of longevity. The blend is 83.5% Cabernet Sauvignon, 9% Merlot, 4% Cabernet Franc, and the balance Petit Verdot that saw 80% new French oak.
